    The WV Department of Highways and the Federal Highways Administration is replacing the Thomas Buford Pugh Memorial Bridge on Route 41 in the town of Prince. Construction will require temporary full river traffic closures and long term river detours. More »

Rangers in Training

Rangers in Training is a free program that gives local high school students an opportunity to discover and enjoy some of the history, nature and recreation that New River Gorge National River has to offer. Participants will hike trails, white-water raft, fish, rock climb, and discover some of the natural and cultural history of the gorge as they learn about how National Park Service rangers care for America's special places.

BASE Jumper at New River Gorge

One day each year, hundreds of BASE (Building, Antenna, Span, and Earth) jumpers come to New River Gorge to parachute from the New River Gorge Bridge.
