Trail destinations are individually managed by a variety of partner agencies and organizations. Most destinations do not have admission fees. Some have seasonal parking fees. Visitors should contact individual destinations for more information. Did You Know?
"Slag" was the waste material created during Hopewell Furnace's iron smelting process. It consisted of residual minerals in the iron ore that remained after the iron had been removed. Often it appears glassy and multicolored, a combination of minerals such as copper, nickle and manganese.
