Steroegraphic Civil War photos as they were meant to be seen
Poems by Walt Whitman, Herman Melville and other Civil War Poets.
The Civil War occurred when photography was becoming widewly available and thousands of three-dimensional images of the war were shot with Stereo cameras. The war also inspired a great deal of poetry, much of it published in The Rebellion Record, and Walt Whitman and Herman Melville both produced significant books of Civil War poetry: Drum-Taps and Battle-Pieces.
