Have you ever wanted to explore the Arctic? Here is your chance to do it, without having to travel far!
New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, in partnership with the New Bedford Whaling Museum will be offering a day of activities, crafts, games, and a special movie.
National Park Visitor Center events:
10:00 : enjoy a reading of the children's book, "Whale Snow," try on Arctic clothing, or catch a screening of the movie, "Big Miracle, a story of the rescue of a family of grey whales (rated PG)
11:00 : make a snow globe to take home
12:00: build a snow fort; have a snowball fight (weather permitting)
12:00-2:00: find out about the Arctic animals that came aboard the Effie Morrissey, now known as the Schooner Ernestina!
1:00 How are snowflakes created? Discover how nature creates this wonder of nature; make a snowflake tree ornament; participate in Arctic Olympics
2:00: screening of film "Big Miracle" (see 10:00 am description)

10:00-12:00 free crafts and childrens activities in Jacobs Gallery;
Highlights tours (with regular admission) from 10:00-11:00 and from 1:00-2:00 pm
Go below on the deck of the Lagoda (with regular admission) from 10:00-12:00 pm
