grounds of the carillon at route 50 and the George Washington Memorial parkway,

Every Saturday afternoon in May guest
artist play the 50-bell carillon which was given to the U.S. in appreciation
for the liberation of Holland on May 5, 1945, during World War II. During the
month of May their will be a special concert May 5th and May 25.
Visitors are welcome to go up in the tower to watch the carillonneur perform
and view the city of Washington and other surrounding features. For further

are presented by outstanding carillonneurs on Saturdays and national holidays
from May through September. During concerts, visitors are welcome to climb the

Twilight Tattoo is an hour-long sunset military pageant that
features Soldiers of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), troop, and
ceremonial units: The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, The U.S. Army Drill Team;
The U.S. Army Blues, a soloist from The U.S. Army Chorus, and members of The
U.S. Army Band Downrange. This performance is free and open to the public.
Bleacher seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis. For more

The National Symphony Orchestra performs the first of three outdoor
holiday concerts. The concert is free and is broadcast LIVE on PBS. Memorial
Day is a day to remember the sacrifices made by so many … and a day for
healing. On the eve of Memorial Day, come out and enjoy the National Memorial
Day Concert, a deeply moving and reverential tribute to the men and women who
have given so much to preserve America’s freedoms. The program is co-hosted for the fourth year
by Emmy Award winner Gary Sinise (CSI:New York) and Tony Award
winner Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds), two acclaimed actors who
have dedicated themselves to veteran's causes and supporting our troops in
active service. Joining co-hosts Sinise
and Mantegna is an all-star line-up of dignitaries, actors and musical
artists including: distinguished American leader Colin L. Powell USA
(Ret.); two-time Academy Award-winning actress Dianne Wiest; singer Katharine
McPhee (American Idol); country music superstar Trace Adkins;
Tony Award-winning Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell; celebrated
Broadway star Colm Wilkinson (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera); acclaimed opera
star Denyce Graves; classical music superstar Lang Lang; and
Grammy-nominated violin virtuoso Robert McDuffie in performance with the
National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of maestro Erich
Kunzel, recipient of the National Medal of Arts. The U.S Joint Chiefs of Staff are also participating
in the event along with The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, The U.S. Army Chorus,

A one
hour performance, the Sunset Parade features the music of "The Commandant's
Own", The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and precision drill by
the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. There are no public parking spaces
available at the Memorial grounds on Parade evenings. Guests may park at the
Arlington National Cemetery Visitors' Center. Ride a free shuttle bus service
from the visitor center to the war memorial grounds from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
before the parade and from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. following the parade OR you can take the Metro to Arlington Cemetery (blue line). For additional

The concerts, free and open to the public, will be held on Sundays during
summer from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fort Hunt Park in Virginia. Bring a picnic and chair or blanket and enjoy the entertainment. In
case of rain, the concerts will be held under the pavilion in Area A. Fort Hunt

A CAPITOL FOURTH CONCERT

The National Symphony Orchestra
performs the second of three outdoor holiday concerts on the U.S. Capitol west
lawn. This 90-minute concert will be broadcast
live nationally on both PBS and NPR-member stations. The concert is free and is presented
by the National Park Service and its producer, Capital Concerts, Inc. The
concert will be capped off by a rousing rendition of Tchaikovsky’s
“1812Overture,” complete with live cannon fire. Jimmy
Smits will return to host America’s biggest birthday party and for the first time ever, Barry Manilow, will open and close the
broadcast with a stirring medley of hits and patriotic classics along with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Choral Arts Society of Washington.
Joining him are the “Queen of Soul,” Aretha
Franklin; international pop sensation Natasha
Bedingfield; the Tony and Grammy Award-winning cast of Jersey Boys ; multi-Grammy Award nominee Michael Feinstein; and acclaimed
classical pianist Andrew von Oeyen. The concert will also feature unrivaled
musical performances with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction
of America’s prince of pops Erich Kunzel. As a
special treat for the entire family, Elmo,
Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and more of the SESAME STREET gang will be on hand to
celebrate America’s 233rd birthday.
