Welcome to the National Capital Region of the National Park Service. All concerts are free except where noted and open to the public. Rain may cancel some performances. MILLENNIUM STAGE

Free performances every night and no tickets are required. Take Metro to the Foggy Bottom/GWU station and ride the free KENNEDY CENTER SHOW SHUTTLE departing every 15 minutes until midnight. "TWILIGHT TATTOO"

Historic Fort McNair, 4th and Maine Avenue SW, Washington, D.C. and Fort Myer is adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery.

 

Twilight Tattoo is presented by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. This outdoor ceremonial pageant is an hour-long sunset military pageant that features Soldiers of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), and the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.” This performance is free and open to the public. Bleacher seating is available on a first-come, first-seated basis. For more information about group reservations, contact the U.S. Army Military District of Washington at (202) 685-2888. "FRIDAY EVENING PARADES"

Friday evenings, May 4-August 31

The Evening Parade, held Friday evening during the summer. Come out to enjoy a concert by the U.S. Marine Band, Silent Drill Team &Bugle Corps. Reservations must be made in writing three weeks in advance to: The adjutant, Marine Barracks, 8th & Eye Streets, SE, Washington, D.C. 20390-5000. (Unclaimed seating will be available at 8:15 p.m. for non-tickets holders). General public seating is available starting at 8 p.m. Guests may park at Maritime Plaza, where a free shuttle service is provided to and from the Barracks. NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT

 

8:00 -9:30 p.m., Sunday, May 27

Public access to the U.S. Capitol Grounds begins at 5:00 p.m.

The National Symphony Orchestra performs the first of three outdoor holiday concerts. The concert is free and is broadcast LIVE on PBS. Memorial Day is a day to remember the sacrifices made by so many … and a day for healing. On the eve of Memorial Day, come out and enjoy the National Memorial Day Concert, a deeply moving and reverential tribute to the men and women who have given so much to preserve America’s freedoms.  The concert is FREE and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Because most of the summer concerts are held outdoors with no rain site, inclement weather can cause cancellations. “CONCERTS ON THE AVENUE”

Navy Band Summer Concert Series – Each summer from June through August, the United States Navy Band proudly presents Concerts on the Avenue.  The concerts are presented on select Tuesday evenings at the United States Navy Memorial. Come out to the U.S. Navy Memorial for an evening of relaxing music by the United States Navy Band and its specialty groups. NETHERLANDS CARILLON CONCERTS

 

Saturday evenings: 6:00 p.m. June to August (dates to be announced)

Special holiday concerts at 2:00 p.m. on May 28, July 4, and September 3

 

The Netherlands Carillon, Arlington, VA

 

Guest artists play two hour concerts of patriotic music, jazz, and pop on the carillon's 50 bells. The Netherlands carillon is a gift from the Dutch people in honor of American aid received during and after World War II. Bring a picnic, relax on the grass in front of the carillon, and take in picturesque views of Washington, D.C. while you enjoy the show. FORT HUNT SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

 

7:00 -8:00 p.m., Sundays, June –August (dates to be announced)

Pavilion A - Fort Hunt, Alexandria, VA

 

The park is located approximately 6 miles south of Old Town Alexandria in Virginia along the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Exit at the sign marked “Fort Hunt Road/Fort Hunt Park.”

 

Come out and relax under the stars at Fort Hunt Park to listen to the sounds of jazz, the rhythm of rock, or folk. Enjoy community bands at Fort Hunt Park. Concerts are FREE and open to the public. SUNSET PARADE AT THE IWO JIMA MEMORIAL    

7:00 p.m., Tuesdays, June - August (dates to be announced)

U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima), Arlington, VA

A one hour performance, the Sunset Parade features the music of "The Commandant's Own", The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and precision drill by the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. There are no public parking spaces available at the Memorial grounds on Parade evenings. Guests may park at the Arlington National Cemetery Visitors' Center for a small fee.  Marine Barracks provides a free shuttle bus service from the visitor center to the war memorial grounds from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. before the parade and from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. following the parade or you can take the Metro to Arlington Cemetery (blue line). FORT DUPONT SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

 

8:00 p.m., Saturdays, July and August (Dates to be announced)

Randle Circle and Minnesota Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C.

 

 All shows are free and open to the public.   Performances are subject to change. Shows begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. and are held rain or shine.  We encourage music lovers to come out, bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy some of the finest rhythm & blues music in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. 

 

 

U.S. ARMY BAND “PERSHING OWN- "The 1812 OVERTURE"

Washington Monument grounds, Sylvan Theatre, 15th and Constitution Ave. NW

 

“Pershing’s Own” is an ensemble of the U.S. Army Band. Each year The United States Army Band performs its big summer concert that concludes with the spirited Tchaikovsky’s “Overture 1812.” Come out and hear the cannons of the 3rd Infantry Regiment “The Old Guard” Presidential Salute Battery. This annual musical program features classical, popular, and patriotic music for audiences of all ages. For recorded information about upcoming concerts, please call 703-696-3399.

 

 

NATIONAL SYMPHONY LABOR DAY CONCERT

 

8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2

West lawn, U.S. Capitol, Washington, D.C.

 

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) performs the last of three outdoor holiday concerts, sponsored by the National Park Service.  Associate Conductor Emil de Cou will lead this annual this NSO traditional on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. The concert is free no tickets are required.  In case of inclement weather the concert will be moved to the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Please call the NSO Summer Concert Hotline at 202-416-8114 after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 2 to find out if the performance has been moved. Gates open to the public at 3:00 p.m.

 

LABOR DAY CONCERT AT THE NAVY MEMORIAL

1:00 p.m., Monday, September 3

U.S. Navy Memorial, Pennsylvania Ave. NW at 9th Street, Washington, DC

The United States Navy Band and the "Sea Chanters" chorus perform an outdoor concert at the Navy Memorial. For information call 202-737-2300.
