Description: Hopkins Park is one of Cincinnati's oldest park. The last time is was renovated was in 1971, thus many of the facilities are in a state of disrepair. Renovations include the development of a new entrance and flat terraces with retaining walls for expanded play areas. In addition new playground equipment with safety surfacing, and new game courts will be installed. Improvements also include walkways, benches, game tables, picnic shelter, and landscaping.

Description: A youthy outreach program was developed for at-risk 14-20 year-old teens and young adults. programs included expanded recreation programming at Roosevelt Center three nights a week from 10 pm to 2 am, and five hours on Sundays which offer participants an alternative to anti-social activities. Program provided transportation to various recreation and cultural events, outreach activities, career counseling and job placement, personal awareness classes to enhance teen self-image, GED tutorial classes, and seasonal employment was available for ten participants. Recreation programming included aquatices, gym sports, board and table games, and crafts.A number of recreation, education and social organizations within the community have supported the program beyond the grant period. Since 1992 over 300 youth have enrolled in the program. Many have accomplished their goals such as obtaining their GEDs, enrolling in college, and job placement.
