Over 70 volunteers gathered this past summer to build the Goldstream Valley Lions Club bike pump park and skills course in Fairbanks, AK. The NPS RTCA program helped project partners find grant money through Alaska's Recreational Trails Program, identified pump park design/build experts to lead the workshop (Alpine Trails), and joined everyone else to shovel and pound the dirt to make it all real.

Groundwork

Dennis Chestnut with Groundwork Anacostia in DC explains how trash is being collected from a stream that flows directly into the Anacostia River. The NPS RTCA program has assisted Groundwork Anacostia with forming the Groundwork Trust.

Hop on your bike to learn more about the Upper Housatonic Valley Heritage Trails, recent recipents of a prestigous Bikes Belong Grant. The NPS RTCA program has assisted the Upper Housatonic Valley Heritage Trails for two years, working in partnership with the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area.

Steamboat Trace was highlighted as part of NET's Nebraska Stories series. The NPS Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program assisted with the public involvement on this rail trail project over a decade ago. It is now a popular hiking and biking trail. The story is a production of Nebraska Educational Telecommunications.

Minnesota's National Park Legacy, is a selection from "Minnesota's National Park Legacy" that highlights the NPS Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program. The complete film shared the story of all of the National Park sites in Minnesota. It was co-produced by Twin Cities Public Television with all National Park Service sites in Minnesota. (transcript)
