The LWCF Program provides
matching grants to States and local governments
for the acquisition and development of public
outdoor recreation areas and facilities (as well as funding for shared federal land acquisition and conservation strategies). The
program is intended to create and maintain a
nationwide legacy of high quality recreation
areas and facilities and to stimulate
non-federal investments in the protection and
maintenance of recreation resources across the
United States. |

2010 Land and Water Conservation Fund Annual Report

NPS is pleased to release the 2010 Annual Report for the Land and Water Conservation Fund State and Local Assistance Program. This report highlights many of the Program's accomplishments from last year, all performed in partnership with State and local governments, in providing the American public with new or enhanced opportunities for outdoor recreation in urban areas and communities across the United States. The 246 project sites funded by LWCF in Fiscal Year 2010 will help satisfy some of the significant national demand that exists for recreation facility development and parkland acquisition, which is also described in this report.
You may download a pdf version of the annual report here. Printed copies of the report are also available from our regional LWCF program offices in Atlanta, Omaha, Philadelphia, and Seattle, or the national program office in Washington, DC (lwcf_grants@nps.gov).
