Accessibility

The Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail strives to make its facilities and services as accessible as possible. The five different sections of the trail are moderately improved dirt paths. Horseback riding is allowed on several segments and certain sections of the trails feature steep grades, stream crossings, varying terrain, and uneven surfaces.

Visitors looking for fully accessible trails along the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail corridor may wish use the Multiuse Trail in Ridgeland, Mississippi, or the Beech Springs Trail in Tupelo, Mississippi. You can get to the Multiuse Trail in Ridgeland from several stops along the Natchez Trace Parkway, including Choctaw Agency, milepost 100.7, the Parkway Information Cabin, milepost 102.4, or Reservoir Overlook, milepost 105.6. The Beech Springs Trail is located at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center and Headquarters at milepost 266.
