Ranger-Led Activities and Events in the Ridgeland Area
Rangers help visitors learn about the animals of the Natchez Trace Parkway. NPS Photo You may chose to join a park ranger and explore parts of the original Trace, or learn more about the many American Indian mounds found along route of the modern Parkway. Discover the world of boatmen and bandits, Chickasaw and Choctaw, and forest and wildlife. Ranger programs are always free; schedules and topics vary by season. May 2013 May 11, 2013 Trace Traditions The Natchez Trace Parkway invites visitors to enjoy the talents of local musicians at the Parkway Information Cabin in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The Trace Traditions will perform from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The group plays traditional Mississippi blues, country favorites, and whatever else comes to mind. Visitors are welcome to stop by for a few minutes, or bring a chair and stay awhile to enjoy some old-fashioned toe-tapping music. The Parkway Information Cabin (at milepost 102.4 on the Natchez Trace Parkway) is located approximately one mile north of I-55 exit 105A, or just east of the intersection of Rice Road and Highway 51.
