Natchez Trace Parkway Closure Milepost 276-282

As a result of the recent heavy rainfall and flooding, a drainage culvert on the Natchez Trace Parkway was severely damaged. A section of the Parkway in Lee and Itawamba counties has been closed between milepost 276 and 282, with a recommended detour as follows:

     Northbound traffic should exit the Parkway near milepost 276 onto Lee County road 1303 west; turn right onto Lee County road 2578 west, then turn right onto Mississippi Highway 370 north; turn left onto Mississippi Highway 371 north and reenter the Parkway near milepost 282.

     Southbound traffic should exit the Parkway near milepost 282 onto Mississippi Highway 371 south; turn right onto Mississippi Highway 370 south, then turn left onto Lee County road 2578; turn left onto Lee County road 1303 and reenter the Parkway near milepost 276. The 9-mile detour route is signed accordingly. The detour will remain in effect until further notice while this section is under repair.
