The Natchez Trace Parkway was established as a unit of the National Park Service in 1938 to commemorate the historic travel route known as the "Natchez Trace." Completed in 2005, the Parkway is 444 miles in length, covers 52,289 acres, and averages 800 feet in width.

The Parkway Visitor Center near Tupelo, MS, is open 9am-4:30pm seven days a week. The visitor center is closed Thanksgiving, December 25th and January 1st.
