Public Meetings for Pennsylvania Avenue
The National Park Service is in the process of developing the Environmental Assessment (EA) for Pennsylvania Avenue. The planning team expects that the EA will be available for public review by Spring 2013.
The National Park Service (NPS), the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC), US General Services Administration, and the District of Columbia invite you to attend a public meeting to discuss master planning for the long-term management of Pennsylvania Avenue.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at NCPC’s offices, 401 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC. This location is accessible via the Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter or Gallery Place metro stations. During the meeting, the project team will discuss alternatives and the public is invited to learn about the plan and provide input to help inform the pending Environmental Assessment and consultation under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The first portion will be focused on the Environmental Assessment and the second portion will be on Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
NPS will accept written comments on the proposal at the meeting and via its website through June 13, 2013. See parkplanning.nps.gov/pennave to view additional information about the planning effort and to submit comments.
