Three
rotating photographs depict:
1) The Abraham Lincoln Memorial at the Sherman Hill Summit in Wyoming
was the most substantial Lincoln Highway-related monument ever erected.
Constructed at the highest point on the Lincoln Highway in 1959, it
was relocated to a nearby rest stop on Interstate 80--the Lincoln
Highway's modern transcontinental replacement--in 1968. Courtesy of
Kevin Patrick.
2) Postcard image of Lincoln Highway passing through the Allegheny
Mountains, and a historic shot factory, near Grand View Point on US
30, 17 miles west of Bedford, Pennsylvania. Courtesy of Beth Savage.
3) Resident painting Lincoln Highway sign on telephone pole in Clarks,
Nebraska. Courtesy of Carol Ahlgren.
