    Muir Beach is open but the Muir Beach Overlook is closed for construction until August 1, 2014. Muir Beach is open to the public every day, including holidays at 9 AM and closes one hour after sunset.

Hike with Ranger Lucy from Muir Woods all the way to Stinson Beach along one of Marin's most famous trails - The Dipsea.  This is a moderate, one-way, five mile hike, ending at Stinson Beach. Discover why this is Lucy's favorite hike!  Wear comfortable hiking shoes, layers, bring a snack and water.  Meet at the Muir Woods Visitor Center. Entrance fee applies. Appropriate for people ages 18 years and up. Must be able to walk briskly up steep hills. Reservations required, (415) 388-2596. Heavy rain cancels.
