Beginning A Memoir
1936 - 1941

The photos featured here [PWRI 6705-6790], are from an album belonging to John "Buzz" Bezusko. John was an Army and Air Force veteran who served in both World War II and the Korean War. He was born and raised in Pennsylvania coal-mining town and joined the CCC after high school graduation. While at Chopawamsic, Buzz worked in a rock quarry using jackhammers, dynamite, trucks and graders to build roads, bridges, and dams. His photos capture him and his closest companions at work and at play.
