Farm Workers at Manzanar

Japanese Americans who worked in farm areas outside of camp to produce vegetables for Manzanar’s mess halls are captured in this panoramic photo. Some brought decades of farming experience to Manzanar, while others had never worked the land before. The opportunity to work away from the crowded, confined residential camp was always a draw.
