Child's Chair
c 1850
Made in America

Low caned seat, Empire style, chair with splayed back legs.

By the time the Lincolns’ sons were born, children’s toys and items made for children were becoming popular. This chair looks like a full-sized chair but is scaled down for a young boy. Legend says that this belonged specifically to Tad, the youngest Lincoln son.
