Hampton

Twelve cyanotypes (distinguished by their blue color) in an album probably kept by Helen West Stewart Ridgely record the visit of a friend of the Ridgely family to Havana, Cuba in c. 1900. His name was Lee, and he was likely an American soldier stationed there after the Spanish American War. The images show buildings of Spanish colonial architecture, city squares and gardens, and a cemetery where victims of the explosion on the USS Maine were buried.
