Hampton

This Victorian era crocheted coverlet bears both the stag’s head crest of the Ridgely family and the initials “JR,” likely for John Ridgely (1851-1938), Hampton’s fifth master. It may have been made for him by his wife Helen West Stewart Ridgely (1854-1929), perhaps not long after their marriage in 1873.
