Rococo Revival style; 1800-1825/1824-1835
Georgetown, Maryland; Charles A. Burnett (bowl)
Baltimore; Samuel Kirk (monteith rim, collar, and stand)

A plain punch bowl made earlier by Georgetown silversmith Charles A. Burnett was enhanced by Samuel Kirk with fashionable repoussé decoration and a removable scalloped monteith (from which to suspend cups) rim at the time of John and Eliza Ridgely’s marriage in 1828. A few years later, Kirk made a collar to allow the bowl to be raised on a stand for use as a centerpiece.
