This civil War Ambulance style-wagon came from St. Louis by steamboat to Fort Benton ([80 miles to the north of the ranch]. It was sold to Johnny Grant, who sold it to Kohrs. It carried newly-weds, Conrad and Augusta Kohrs, from Fort Benton to their home in 1868. The entire Kohrs family used it for a seven week trip through Yellowstone National Park in 1883. In-between, it was sent towards the Big Hole to carry wounded from the Nez Perce battle to the nearest hospital in Deer Lodge.
