Union General George McClellan’s images graces the envelop that Amos Lapham, Company D, 5th Maine Infantry addressed to his sister. It was postmarked in Louisville, Kentucky. See the letter [GETT 27706] on the same type of stationery. Popular stationary was adorned with military and patriotic motifs.
