Playing Games
Like so many other American families in the 1950s, the Eisenhowers enjoyed playing games such as Scrabble, a new and popular game, and cards.  Eisenhower was an excellent bridge player, regularly playing with General Alfred Gruenther, a well known expert on the game.  Mamie also played a good game of bridge but she often preferred to play Canasta, Bolivia and Mahjong with her friends.
