Pedal car patterned after the Ford Regence. The Ford Regence was manufactured in
France from 1955-1957. The windshield is removable and has an antenna attached to
i
t. The tires are made by the Belgian tire maker Bergougnan and have a chrome metal
hubcap on each wheel. Two batteries, one at the front and one at the back powered
the head and tail lights.

The Eisenhower grandchildren used this pedal car at the farm. With the burgeoning automobile industry in America, and new car styles every year, this French Ford Regence pedal car reflected American design.  Americans became a nation on wheels with unprecedented growth in automobile ownership.
