Hat [replica]

This is a replica of the Made to look like the Stetson style of hat called the "Boss of the Plains" style. It has a pressed paper sweat band and gros grain ribbon binding around the brim edge, showing it is a copy. It appears that Scotty signed the hat as Death Valley Scotty in 1948. To make it resemble Scotty's trademark hat, the crown needs three indentations. It may have been sold as a souvenir or brought by a visitor for Scotty to sign.
