Carl Sandburg "enjoyed Japanese and Chinese art, literature and culture, in vogue in the United States since the teens. He was especially intrigued by the work of Japanese artists Hiroshige and Hokusai, whose inexpensive prints he brought home or gave to friends as gifts." (Niven, p 365) is one of Japan's most well-known artists. This woodblock print is from the famous series, "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji."
