Pueblo IV. AD 1525 - 1650
Sankawi’i is a variation of the spelling of Tsankawi, the detached portion of Bandelier located near the town of White Rock. Pottery types are often named for places where quantities of that style are found. This type of large jar, or olla, was often made with a concave base to make it easier to carry on one’s head.
