Child’s Chest and Bookcase
c 1840s

Description: Pitched pediment, glass doors in top section, four drawers in lower section, turned reeded legs and feet; May be a “married” piece as the two sections do not go together.

This chest and bookcase were probably used by the Lee children. Robert E. Lee later gave it to Miss Nannie Randolph Heth, a member of the Custis family.
