  • Road work on Washington Place Friday Sept 26th to Wednesday Oct 1st weather permitting

Join us on Morristown Green on July 4th at 11:00 am for the reading of the Declaration of Independence. 

For almost 30 years, Morristown National Historical Park has been commemorating Independence Day with a public reading of the Declaration of Independence. The celebration continues in 2014. The event includes fun activities for the whole family.  

Program Highlights
11:00 am - Musical entertainment, activities, picnicking

12:00 pm - NJ 350th anniversary proclamation 

12:15 pm - Reading of the Declaration of Independence

12:45 pm - Tolling of the bells and musket firing

1:00 pm - Musical entertainment by Wire Harp and the Morris Music Men

1:30 pm - Free tours of the Presbyterian Church and graveyard

2:00 pm - Ribbon-cutting and tour of Fort Nonsense
