Accessibility

Guests are encouraged to contact the park ahead of their visit with specific questions and updates on current conditions.

Our park brochure has several alternate versions to improve accessibility.

For People with Mobility Impairments

  • The Washington's Headquarters Museum and the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center are accessible to wheelchair users
  • Partially accessible bathrooms are located in the Washington's Headquarters Museum and the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center (stalls are wide enough, but doors into the bathrooms are not automatic).
  • The following walkways are paved: from the visitor parking lot into the Washington's Headquarters Museum and from the visitor parking lot into the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center.
  • The Jockey Hollow section of the park has more than 3 miles of paved roads open for touring by private vehicle. Wayside exhibit panels along the route are partially accessible, on paths and in flat, grass covered areas.

For People with Hearing Impairments

  • The Washington's Headquarters Museum orientation film has open captions. Audio description listening devices are also available.
  • The Jockey Hollow Visitor Center orientation film has open captions.
  • The Soldier Hut exhibit in the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center has open captions for the audio program.

For People with Sight Impairments

  • The soldier hut exhibit inside the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center has an audio component. Audio description listening devices are also available.
  • For the orientation film, listening devices are available.
  • A Braille version of the park brochure is available to view at the Museum Visitor Services Desk.
  • An audio description of the park brochure is available.
