Tourism Council of Frederick County Celebrates

The Tourism Council of Frederick County, Maryland, proudly celebrates her five National Park Service sites in a special program at the Weinberg Theater on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.  Discover the "Battle that Saved Washington" at Monocacy National Battlefield.  Learn about the early fabric of our country as reflected in WPA and CCC projects at Catoctin Mountain Park.  Experience transportation history and enjoy a real canal boat ride on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park.  Enjoy the majestic splendor of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.  There are so many rich and diverse resources available in these American treasures, but they are also vulnerable and need your care.

Come to the Weinberg on September 24th and get a "sneak peak" of Ken Burns' upcoming film "The National Parks: America's Best Idea."  The program is FREE and fun for the whole family!
