A variety of volunteer opportunities exist at Monocacy National Battlefield, and there are many ways to become a steward at your National Park. Perhaps you can help at the information center by welcoming visitors, or by assisting NPS staff with trail construction and maintenance. Maybe you can help maintain the park's reference library or be a part of the park's annual clean-up day.
Time commitment, interests, skills and availability all help to determine when, where, and how you can become a member of our volunteer staff. Please read our Volunteers In Parks (VIP) position description (MS Word document).
Monocacy National Battlefield also features Living History volunteers during special events and other programs. These dedicated volunteers bring history alive and help visitors understand "what it was like." Click here to learn more about the requirements for Living History volunteers.
