Things To Know Before You Come
Visitors may enjoy a self-guided auto tour as well as several walking trails. We recommend that you pick up a brochure at the visitor center to begin your visit. Exhibits, located on the second floor, will provide you with information that will increase your understanding of your surroundings. Rangers and volunteers will also be available to assist by answering your questions.
A system for audio description of the visitor center exhibits for blind and visually impaired visitors and assistive listening of the exhibits for hearing impaired visitors is available. Visitors may check out a hand held device at the information desk.
Monocacy National Battlefield is a trash free park! There are no trash receptacles on the battlefield, so please plan on taking all your trash with you. Thank you for keeping the park clean for all our visitors!

White-tailed deer are found in abundance on the battlefield. The rising population of deer has an intense affect on the herbaceous and woody plants found within the park, and several studies have recently been conducted on the effects of the overpopulation of deer. More...
