Things To Know Before You Come

Visitors may enjoy a self-guided auto tour as well as several walking trails. We recommend that you pick up a brochure at the visitor center to begin your visit. Exhibits, located on the second floor, will provide you with information that will increase your understanding of your surroundings. Rangers and volunteers will also be available to assist by answering your questions.

Monocacy National Battlefield is a trash free park! There are no trash receptacles on the battlefield, so please plan on taking all your trash with you. Thank you for keeping the park clean for all our visitors!

Amphibians play an important role in the stability and diversity of the park's ecosystem. The American Toad is one of the many different types of amphibians that can be found while hiking some of the streamside trails at the park.
