Monocacy National Battlefield will join with the Frederick Historic Sites Consortium and 22 historic sites in Frederick County to kick off the holiday season.Visit Monocacy National Battlefield on December 10, 2011 betweennoon and 5pm and make a Christmas ornament while visiting the museum. The event is free.

Monocacy Junction, 1917

The "Y" at Monocacy Junction, completed in 1830, allows trains to turn around. It was the first of its kind in the United States, and is still in use today.
