The well pump at Kelso Depot Visitor Center stopped working late last week, creating a water shortage at the busy Mojave National Preserve information center located 34 miles south of Baker, California, on Kelbaker Road. The pump will be replaced on Thursday, July 30, and the Visitor Center is expected to reopen on Friday. Portable toilets have been placed in the parking lot of Kelso Depot Visitor Center to serve travelers on Kelbaker and Cima roads.
