July 4-6: Independence Day Weekend

Celebrate the Nation's Independence at the battle site that convinced North Carolina to be the first state to call for the final break with England. The American victory at Moores Creek led North Carolina to instruct its delegates in the Continental Congress to vote for Independence.

This weekend will feature a variety of activities, including militia camps, musket firing, colonial medicine, and other demonstrations.

November 15: Candlelight tours

The park's annual candlelight tours will be held from 7-9 PM. Visitors will learn about the events that led to the battle of Moores Creek as they see the battlefield by candlelight . Tours are free but reservations are required.  Reservations may be made starting November 1.

February 22 - 23, 2009:  233rd Anniversary Battle of Moores Creek Bridge.

Battleground Association Established 1899  

Did You Know?
Moores Creek National Battlefield has the oldest continually serving Friends group in the National Park System. They are the Moores Creek Battleground Association and were established in 1899.
