Upper Post Timeline

After the Civil War, the area now known as the Upper Post was developed as the headquarters for the Department of the Dakotas. From 1878 to 1892, the area was greatly expanded with numerous state-of-the-art barracks and quarters. During World War II the area was used as a training center for the U.S. Army.
