Visitors on a ranger guided tour at Delta-01

Tour of Delta-01 & Delta-09

This tour starts at Minuteman Missile’s Visitor Contact Station off exit 131, Interstate 90. Visitors will drive their own vehicle a total of 15 miles to visit the two sites.

The tour begins with a ranger guided tour of Delta-01. The topside part of the tour will take them into the living area and security control center where support personnel lived and worked for 3-day shifts.

Visitors will then take an elevator 31 feet beneath the surface where they will visit the underground Launch Control Center. This is where Air Force officers known as missileers worked 24 hours shifts remotely commanding and controlling 10 Minuteman missiles.

The ranger guided tour of Delta-01 takes approximately 30 minutes.

(Please go to the Your Safety page to learn more about the group size limitations on the Delta-01 tour)

Visitors then proceed west on Interstate 90 to Launch Facility (missile silo) Delta-09 located at exit 116.  At the silo they will be able to look through a glass viewing enclosure at a Minuteman II training missile on display. This part of the tour will be self guided. A ranger will be on site as staffing permits.
