Delta-09 Visiting Hours
Ranger leads visitors on tour at Delta-09

A Minuteman Missile Park Ranger leads visitors on a tour at Delta-09.

Launch Facility (missile silo) Delta-09 will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

From May 1st to October 31st, a self-guided cell phone tour is available.

Delta-09 will closed if on-duty staff determine road conditions are unsafe due to weather conditions.

A National Park Service ranger will be at the site intermittently during the summer season to provide historic interpretation and answer visitor questions.

Self-guided cell phone tours are also available at the site. Visitors can use their cell phones to listen to a ranger recorded tour. There are ten stops along the tour which interpret the history of the site and Minuteman missiles across the Great Plains region.

Directions to Delta-09
The missile silo is located off of I-90 exit 116 on the south side of the highway.  

If you are coming from the EAST: at the STOP sign, make a LEFT and continue onto the gravel road. The road will curve and the missile silo will be on the RIGHT hand side. Pull off to the right hand side of the drive and park outside the gate. 

If you are coming from the WEST: at the STOP sign, make a RIGHT and continue onto the gravel road. The road will curve and the missile silo will be on the RIGHT hand side. Pull off to the right hand side of the drive and park outside the gate.

Did You Know?
The only Minuteman Missile ever launched out of an active silo took place at a silo north of Newell, South Dakota on March 1, 1965. The flight only lasted a total of seven seconds with the rocket landing in a nearby pasture.
