Trash Policy

Why are there no trash receptacles?
Minute Man National Historical Park has a carry in, carry out policy. What you tote in, you must tote out. This includes any form of trash; bottles, cans, paper, left over lunch bages, wrappers, etc. There are no public trash receptacles in the Park to dispose of waste materials.

While Minute Man National Historical Park does have a recycling program, it is not equipped to handle the waste generated by every park visitor. Please remember to pack discarded materials or any such other items out with you as you prepare to leave, and leave the park beautiful for others to enjoy.

Though most of the landscape of Eastern Massachusetts was open farm land at the time of the battle in 1775, stone walls, houses and outbuildings provided some cover to minute men attacking the British column.
