Mesa Verde to Host Annual Business Open House

Mesa Verde National Park would like to invite local businesses to its Annual Business Open House. The Open House will be held at the park's Rec Hall located at mile marker 19 on the main park road on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Business Open House provides participants with information concerning park events, summer schedules, entrance fee information and general information concerning park operations.

An optional tour of the sites within the park will be available following the information session.

Baron Gustaf Nordenskiold

In 1891, Swedish scientist Gustaf Nordenskiold studied, explored, and photographed many of Mesa Verde’s cliff dwellings. Considered by many to be the first true archeologist at Mesa Verde, his book, "The Cliff Dwellers of the Mesa Verde," was the first extensive record of its cliff dwellings.
