Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum Exhibit Area Reopens

On Monday, February 28, 2011, the Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum exhibit area will reopen. Portions of the exhibit area have been closed since February 2 when the Fire Suppression System ruptured. Park entrance fees will be waived through February 27 while repairs are made to the building. Regular park entrance fees of $10.00 per vehicle will be in effect beginning February 28, 2011.

The Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Ninety percent of Mesa Verde’s cliff dwellings contain 10 rooms or less. One-third have only one or two rooms. This should help to put the more famous cliff dwellings of Cliff Palace (150 rooms), Long House (150 rooms), Spruce Tree House (130 rooms), and Balcony House (40 rooms) into perspective.
