A newly expanded fall photography workshop will be offered October 10-12, 2014 in Mesa Verde National Park. Northern Arizona University Professor Emeritus Gene Balzer will guide this workshop through several cliff dwellings including Mug House and Oak Tree House. The tuition of $970 per person includes three days of instruction, three nights in-park motel lodging at the Far View Lodge, and all meals including two dinners at the acclaimed Metate Room Restaurant. Enrollment is limited to 13 participants to ensure plenty of personalized coaching. For further information and to register, visit the Mesa Verde Museum Association website at www.mesaverde.org/photography-workshop, e-mail the Association at email@example.com, or call 800-305-6053.
Mesa Verde truly is a photographer's paradise, and there is no better way to experience its visual wonders than with guidance from a trained professional. With a focus on developing stunning photographs and enjoying the cultural and natural wonders of the mesas, workshop participants will come away with once-in-a-lifetime images of several of Mesa Verde's stunning cliff dwellings. Participants will visit sites around the park at times designed to capture ideal lighting conditions and will work on compositional skills for compelling images. The group will visit some archeological sites at hours when they are closed to the general public, and will also visit Mug House and Oak Tree House, beautiful cliff dwellings that are not normally open for visitors. Pacing will be leisurely so everyone gains as much as possible from their experience.
Since 2006, the nonprofit Mesa Verde Museum Association has offered visitors a variety of in-depth learning experiences in Mesa Verde National Park. Through free or low-cost seminars, workshops, lectures, and special programs, visitors of all ages gain a new, behind-the-scenes understanding of Mesa Verde and the Four Corners. Proceeds from this workshop and all association programs support Mesa Verde National Park. Association members are eligible for a 20% tuition discount on this workshop.
