Mesa Verde Employee Art Show - Mesa Verde Centennial Art Gallery
Contact: Tessy Shirakawa, 970-529-4628
There are artists among us – let the world see your wares.
The Mesa Verde Centennial Art Gallery will host an art exhibition of employee artwork in early 2008 (February, March, and April). The artwork must be original and produced by a current or former Mesa Verde employee, Mesa Verde Museum Association employee, Aramark employee, or volunteer.
A variety of media will be accepted, but the pieces must be in a format that can be hung on a display panel. We are looking for paintings, etchings, pastels, charcoals, photographs, fiber art, quilt wall hangings, poetry, stained glass, metal art (not too heavy), needle art, and any other creative art forms. All submissions must be ready to hang in the gallery (not to exceed 4’ in width; call for exceptions).
“A painting in a museum hears more ridiculous opinions than anything else in the world.”
The Mesa Verde Museum Association will host an opening reception for park staff and the visiting public. There will be public and staff voting for “Best of Show,” first, second, and third place, with associated prizes.
“We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth.”
Submissions for this staff exhibition are now being accepted at the Museum. Please fill out the attached form to identify and explain your artwork. Submission deadline is January 15, 2008.
Should you have any questions please call Tracey Chavis at 529-4642, or Tessy Shirakawa at 529-4628.
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
