This activity provides a general introduction to the history of the National Park System, the history of Mesa Verde National Park, and explains how students can help protect the park during their visit.

3.	Explain the difference between a National Park and a National Monument.
4.	Name four kinds of areas managed by the National Park Service.
5.	What is the name of the National Park site closest to you?
6.	What year was the National Park Service established?
7.	Name three individuals who worked hard to establish the National Park Service.
8.	Name five ways that you can demonstrate the three R’s of a park visit. If everyone is to enjoy and preserve the parks then everyone must: Be respectful of everything within the parks. Be responsible for their personal actions, and to some degree, the actions of others. Be reasonable about the rights of the individual and the rights of everyone else.
