Fire Island Wilderness for Educators

Fire Island National Seashore

Transcript

Hi, my name is Andrea and I'm a Teacher-Ranger-Teacher at Fire Island National Seashore.

The Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program is a professional development opportunity for educators to learn about and experience their national parks.

No matter where you go on Fire Island, no matter what grade level or subject you teach, you'll find Fire Island to be an ideal outdoor classroom. So why bring your students to Wilderness?

The Otis Pike Fire Island High Dune Wilderness area is the only federally designated wilderness area in New York State, and is accessible by bus year-round.

Whether viewed through the lens of art or science, history or philosophy, you can experience the changing seasons and dynamic landscape.

So bring your students, your classes, your school, and come see nature as nature intended.
