The Weaving Room

George Washington Birthplace National Monument

Description

When in need of clothing today, we either order from the internet or go to the local store. When George Washington was a child, some of the clothes were shipped in from England or bought during an infrequent trip into town.

However, most of the clothing worn on the plantation was made on the plantation. The process of using the wool and making clothes is explained and portrayed by living historians in this video
