Hooded Skunk (Mephitis macroura)

Description

The hooded skunk is the least common skunk of the four species in the area. Although reluctant to, skunks have the ability to spray a noxious fluid up to 12 feet away! They give plenty of warning beforehand by stomping their feet or doing a handstand fully displaying their tail.
