Kennecott Cemetery - Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark. As copper mining expanded in the region, structures and services developed to support the residents and workers. The earliest recorded burial at Kennecott Cemetery, located just south of the Kennecott Mill Town along the historic wagon road, is 1908. The final date on a grave marker is 1938, which is also the year that the mines closed. The cemetery contains about fifty graves and is surrounded by a white picket fence.
